The Professional Advantage
We’ve all heard the old saying: “if you want it done right, do it yourself”. Sayings like that have spawned an untold number of tips, pointers and videos in the “do it yourself” category for any and all household issues – including carpet cleaning. Because of this, there are not only options to purchase your own carpet cleaner, steamer, shampooer, or combination of such, but you can rent used products as well.
As a whole, these options are low-end equipment with questionable solvents, often abused or poorly maintained. Not only that, but anyone who has tried to clean their own carpet will admit that it’s no easy task – at least, nowhere as easy as they were led to believe. The end result is typically an incomplete job, with spots that were never touched, wet carpets that begin to smell, and stains that seem to reappear when the carpet finally dries.
The whole point in professional carpet cleaning is that individuals are so good at it that they’ve made a profession out of it. Preferred Carpet Cleaning makes it their life’s work to get every carpet they address as clean and protected as possible. How do we do this?
Proper Equipment
Instead of using rented equipment that someone else used earlier in the week, Preferred Carpet Care has invested in high-end commercial-grade equipment that is mounted to our vehicle. It runs outside while only the hoses and attachments come into your home. This results in less indoor noise and less intrusion. But before we get to your home, we inspect our vehicle and our equipment to verify all of it is in proper working order. We verify that we have any equipment and solutions your carpet might require, and we do our best to anticipate unforeseen circumstances.
Thorough Coverage
People often find that carpet cleaning is slow, methodical, and in many cases, boring. They commonly lose patience and begin cutting corners, skipping over areas that “look clean enough”. Sometimes they don’t remove bulky fixtures and barely get underneath low-setting furniture. While that might be acceptable for weekly vacuuming, carpet cleaning requires a more complete methodology.
Preferred Carpet Care discusses with you the sequence of which rooms will be cleaned, and we work with you to relocate the furniture in a manner that will not impede the process. Our goal is to clean every inch of accessible carpeting in the room.
Follow Through
One of the biggest failures with DIY carpet cleaning is drying the carpets. Most rental machines have weak suction power, sometimes reclaiming less than 50 percent of the water they use. The water often stays in your carpet along with soapy residue – prime conditions for mold and mildew to grow in your “cleaned” carpet. Our vehicle-mounted equipment comes with high-powered suction to not only remove the dirt and grime before it gets to the padding, but nearly all the water used in the process. We also offer industrial-strength air movers – some of which are heated – to help dry the carpet if it is still damp. In most cases, a few household fans and maybe an internal heater is all that’s needed to evaporate any remaining moisture.
Many rental cleaners remove any applied carpet protection as part of their cleaning process, and they certainly don’t put down any replacements. However, Preferred Carpet care offers carpet protection coating that helps your carpet to be more resistant to spills. It gives you time to soak up the spill before your carpet fibers can.
Despite these explanations, there will still be those few who opt to rent equipment or purchase a costly version online or in a store. Sad to say, they will inevitably suffer the consequences we’ve mentioned here – ones we’ve seen all too often in our decades of skillful experience.
