Talk About Tile and Grout
In many of our recent articles, we’ve discussed how the current status quo brought on by the pandemic has caused more people to stay in their homes for longer periods of time. We’ve also explained how this increases wear on carpet – especially areas that are prone to high traffic – and therefore increases the need for professional and intermediate carpet care. Along that note, there is another area of the home that has seen a significant increase in use: the bathroom.
Now, you might be taking the same number of showers as you were before COVID was a household word, but the number of visits to facilitate handwashing has no doubt increased. As have general visits to the bathroom since you are likely home more hours in the day.
The amount of water ionizing the bathroom atmosphere from washing and flushing has also likely increased. With that moisture comes the opportunity for mold and mildew to spread along your tile and grout. The more those invaders spread, the less pleasing your bathroom motif will appear. Your allergies and health might also be affected, which means it’s that much more important to clean the tile and grout in your bathroom areas.
But’s it’s such difficult work! It’s repeatedly scrubbing places that are difficult to see, down on your hands and knees, with powders and solvents that say they smell like pine, but they really don’t… there’s got to be something else that needs doing – groceries, dental visits, anything!
Preferred Carpet Care is Here to Help
For homes and businesses in the greater Redding area, Preferred Carpet Care is willing and able to get this tough work done for you. In fact, our extensive skills and training, equipment, and procedures will likely get your tile and grout cleaner than any methods you might try on your own.
First, we isolate the tile and grout from other surfaces, making sure that only the targeted areas are exposed. Next, we sweep up any loose particles and get them out of the way. After that, we use an eco-friendly soil suspension to dislodge and disintegrate surface debris. And that’s just the preparation.
For the cleaning, we might get down on our hands and knees for some intricate areas, but most circumstances allow us to use a mechanical, rotating brush. We follow that up with a self-contained pressure cleaning tool with high-heat, high-pressure water. Next comes a special solution to sanitize your tile and grout and restore a neutral pH balance.
But we don’t end the process there. We check for any discolorations that might need restoration and apply a mixture to bring back the color. Finally, we seal off all those microscopic cracks and pores that provide lodging for mold and mildew. It’s a lot more difficult for them to spread without a foothold, so we seal off those areas.
Finally, we go through the results with you. We show you what we found, where the real problem areas were, and what we did to stop them from being even bigger problems. We want to make sure you understand how you can keep your tile and grout free of dirt, debris, mold and mildew.
