Rugs deserve the same care as wall-to-wall carpet and, in some cases, require special attention. The technician will inform you of what process needs to be taken in order to clean these hand-woven pieces.
Basic Extraction
We use warm water (90 to 105 degrees) and a mild rug detergent to extract the soil, grime, dirt and stains out of the rug. We then hand groom the rugs and proceed to dry them.
Particulate Soil Removal
Sand, dirt, and grime act like a saw towards the rug’s fibers. Thus damaging a valuable item in your home. we use a machine built just for this, the RugBadger EL, delivering over 25,000 harmonic vibrations a minute. Being able to not only loosen but remove stubborn soil and sediments caught deep in the fibers of any area rug. Of course, this is not a full extraction that rinses and sanitizes, so be sure to choose “Deep Clean” as well to ge the most out of your stylish rug.
Preferred Carpet Care has handled thousands of rugs of all types. We can handle anything from urine damage to a tough ink stain or just a simple extraction method clean. Certain types of fabric such as Oriental, Turkish and Persian rugs need a more “delicate” cleaning that only can be handled at our Redding work shop. We want to maintain these valuable hand-woven pieces, so be sure to ask what type of cleaning methods we can provide to you when scheduling your carpet/upholstery cleaning appointment.
