Upholstery Cleaning Process

Preferred Carpet Care is IICRC trained and certified in upholstery cleaning and is recognized as one of the most educated and experienced upholstery care companies in the Redding area. Upon a detailed inspection, our technicians begin the proper cleaning procedure for your specific needs. Our 9-step cleaning process is designed to restore your furniture and make it look new again. We clean all types of upholstery, even the most delicate of fabrics, and also leather.

Step 1: Pre-Inspection

Our technician sites out any stains or problem areas and determines the type of fabric so that you will get the best results possible from the cleaning.

Step 2: Area Preparation

We prepare the area where the upholstery will be cleaned, including moving the furniture out from the wall and away from hardwood floors

Step 3: Pre-Treat

A precise solution designed for your fabric type and the soiling condition is applied to emulsify the soil.

Step 4: Pre-Spot

Any potentially difficult spots are pre-treated with special solutions to increase chances of removal.

Step 5: Soil Extraction and Rinse

The soil is then extracted from the fabric with a easily controlled hand-held upholstery tool. This process is strong enough to remove tough sediments lodged into the fibers, but gentle enough so it won’t harm your fabric.

Step 6: PH Balance

We proceed to neutralize the pH levels of the fabric to preserve its soft, fresh feel.

Step 7: Post Groom

We gently brush and groom the fibers to remove any cleaning stroke marks and make the upholstery neat in appearance.

Step 8: Speed Dry

High velocity turbo air movers are placed and set accordingly to assist in speeding up the drying time and to help the upholstery dry properly.

Step 9: Post Cleaning Inspection

Finally, our technician goes over the cleaning results with you to insure that you are completely astounded with the results of the cleaning.
