Carpet Cleaning Process
Step 1: Pre Inspection
After introducing ourselves and greeting you with a warm smile, we will do a walk through inspection of your carpet to identify your carpet's condition and point out potential permanent stains before any work is started. We will measure all the areas that you would like cleaned and give you a written price based off the square footage of the rooms and of anything else you would like cleaned including, upholstery or area rugs. Please be sure to inform us of any concerns you might have before we start cleaning so that we may be able to serve you better.
Step 2: Setup/Furniture Moving
We will bring in all our cleaning equipment and materials that we need and set them up accordingly. This includes hoses, cleaning tools, cleaning products, corner guards, protective shoe covers, etc. If asked to do so, we will be glad to move any furniture such as sofas, chairs, and coffee tables. Larger pieces such as beds, dressers, and entertainment centers will not be moved, due to the size and weight. While cleaning, we will place foam blocks or plastic squares underneath any furniture that we move back into place so that we do not cause any furniture or rust staining. Please inform us of anything you know about weak legs, loose tops or previous repairs.
Step 3: Pre-Spot
Areas that we pointed out as potential problem stains will be pre-treated with different products depending on what the spots are. This a key factor for removing the spots during the cleaning process.
Step 4: Pre-Spray
Carpeted area that we are to clean is pre-sprayed with a bio-degradable carpet detergent and is let sit on the carpet to break up the soil, dirt, grime and whatever else is lodged in your carpet fibers. We have two different detergents that may be used depending on the soil level and severity of damage to the carpet; so we can cover your needs to the full extent. Be sure to view our page, or ask us about our Hypo-allergenic cleaner if you have any sensitive reactions toward smells of any kind.
Step 5: Extract and Rinse
Once the soil has been loosened, our state-of-the art truck mounted hot water extraction cleaning process will thoroughly flush the carpet pile. Pressure and heat (180°-190° F) are regulated to prevent the carpet from being over-wet, while still sanitizing your carpet thoroughly. Our water purifies and softens so that nothing harsh is put down into your important investment.
Step 6: Speed Dry
High velocity Turbo Dryers are placed on the carpet to hurry the drying time so that we can get you back onto the carpet to continue your day at ease instead of having to wait for hours or even days for the carpets to be fully dry. Generally speaking, the carpets are 70% dry by the time we leave and will take roughly 3-5 hours to dry completely
Step 7: Encapsulation Clean
Preferred Carpet Care will use this rotary cleaning machine on any carpet areas that still has some remaining soil due to foot traffic. In some cases, we will use this machine in heavily walked on areas such as a hallway just to give it the extra touch, so to speak.
Step 8: Post Spot Treatment
If ANY spots are not removed during the cleaning process, specialty spotting techniques are employed. Note: Potential stains, as identified by the technician, may not be removed. Please be sure to ask what may be a permanent stain.
Step 9: Carpet Grooming
We then proceed by hand grooming all the areas we cleaned with a carpet rake on all to give it a “finished” look.
Step 10: Post Cleaning Inspection
Our technician will do a final walk-through with you to point out the cleaning results to make sure that you are completely thrilled with the job we have done. We will then leave you a sheet with some helpful tips for your carpet and proceed to collect payment. After sincerely thanking you for the opportunity to serve you, we will part ways and look forward to seeing you again.
